April 2026 MG Workshop Day - MGC & BGT V8 (12 Apr 2026)

Hi C&V8 Members

I am once again hosting my MGB GT V8 build workshop day at my home in Coogee. It will be held on Sun 12 April 2026 from 09:00 - 13:00.

I will run you through the history of my build and the modifications that I will be making to this car. You will see the 3.9 Rover v8 with throttle body fuel injection, RV8 headers and the body mods required to fit as well as mods made to accomodate the fully integrated air-conditioning setup. Also you will see the 4 link rear suspension, the T5 Gearbox conversion and the 4 pot ventilated disc brake kit from the MGOC UK. Just to name a few.

There will be a "sausage on a roll" for lunch ($5) as well as soft drinks ($1) and tea/coffee available during the day.

At these gatherings you’ll be able to catch up with the latest happenings in the Club as well as enjoy a social evening with other members – we’ll usually see upwards of 60 members at a gathering. A guest speaker is often invited to present a topic of interest.

SE Queensland / Northern NSW Pre-War and Pre 1956 MG Tweed Valley Rally (11 May 2026)

This rally is open to custodians of pre-war and pre-1956 MGs to participate in their MGs. Based out of Kingscliff, NSW, it will run from the welcome meet & greet on Monday 11 May and finish with a celebration dinner on Thursday 14 May 2026.

The Rally will include runs of between 100 and 150 km on Tuesday and Thursday and a longer run of around 200km on Wednesday, when we travel up into the hinterland mountains.

A fee of $125 per person attending is required to be paid prior to registration acceptance.

Kingscliff offers the following accommodation options:

Caravan park (cabins)

Tweed Holiday Parks Kingscliff North. This park is adjacent to the beach and approx. 2km north of Kingscliff shopping area. Book on www.tweedholidayparks.com.au and select Kingscliff North as the park. They offer a weekday special of ‘stay 4 nights for price of 3 nights’
Tweed Holiday Parks Kingscliff Beach (adjacent to the shopping area and Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club). This park is usually full all year round and more expensive than the Kingscliff North park. A quick check shows no cabins are available for the week of the rally
Ingenia Holidays Kingscliff (on the western side of the Motorway, in Chinderah). 18 cabins, book online on the usual websites

These caravan parks offer various size cabins, although it is best to check the bed layout before booking. They require payment upon booking, but have a reasonable 3 or 2 days prior cancellation policy.

Rally organisers are staying in cabins at the Tweed Holiday Parks, Kingscliff North.

Blue Water Motel (3 Star) - near Kingscliff North (caravan) Park, one street back from beach
Chinderah Motel (3 Star) - overlooking Tweed River
Mantra on Salt Beach (4 ½ star) – in Kingscliff South
Peppers Salt Resort & Spa (5 star) – in Kingscliff South

Apartments, Air B&B etc
