The 2026 Fish & Chips Run
The annual Alf Luckman Memorial Fish and Chips Run will be held on Saturday January 17th 2026. This event is the first event of the year on the MGCC Sydney’s calendar and named in memory of Alf Luckman, a long-time member of the club and a long-term champion of the MG Y Types.
This year’s event will be held using the southern route commencing at Loftus Oval Car Park and ending at Stanwell Park Beach Reserve. Participants should gather at the Car Park Oval around 11:30am with a departure at 12:00pm. The route runs through the picturesque Royal National Park along Sir Bertram Stevens Drive past Stanwell Tops and onto the Beach Reserve.
Route guidance will be provided on the day and the route itself can easily be entered into Google Maps, starting with Loftus Oval Car Park, Sir Bertram Stevens Drive and then Stanwell Park Beach Reserve. The drive is about 40 km and will take about 40 minutes.
Parking is plentiful, however scattered throughout the beach reserve. Shade cover is provided by the multitude of trees however you are advised to bring sunscreen and hat, plus a folding chair with or without a folding table. Fish and chips is available at the Stanwell Park Beach Kiosk within the reserve. Hope to see you there.
